Professor Madrone has spent a lot of time building his credentials in the Nexus, dedicating his life to studying how the Nexus affects the behavior of Pokemon and vice versa. To that extent, his desire for eager and helpful recruits has become apparent over the last few months. If you've been wandering around the Nexus, his contact information will be in most populated places. The local Pokemon Center. The Crossroads Cafe. All around are flyers meant to enlighten people on the nature of Pokemon.

To be honest, I'd be suspicious of anything powerful being simply given to me, so I expect I would learn everything I can about it, first--then, if I'm reasonably certain it's safe, I would find out what it does and if that would be useful to myself or someone else. If it fails either of those tests, I would most likely simply keep it secure.
